Wings of Hope is a program started by Phil, a USAF Hero stationed in Afghanistan. I adopted Phil through
Soldiers' Angels, so I'm helping with Wings of Hope, too!
The purpose of this blog is to let you know what we're up to, and how you can help.
Here's a little more about Wings of Hope, from an email Phil sent me:
...You always ask me if there was anything particular I could use....and I have come up with something I could use a little help with. I have started a little program here for local schools and children/families who do not have much. I have traveled the base asking for the units to donate what ever they can spare as to school supplies and things they think kids would want. I am mostly focusing on school supplies and etc, but there isn't much here for us to get ahold of to give to them If you could maybe find some of your friends, neighbors co-workers etc to just think of whatever they think under privileged kids and families might want and need....
Once we had a name, and the help of
Soldiers' Angels, "Wings of Hope" was officially born. But we need help to keep it going, and that's where you come in. If you would like to help Phil get these much needed supplies to needy families in Afghanistan, here's how:
You can check out the
Wings of Hope page at the Soldiers' Angels site.
At that page, you'll find information on where to send items. Or, if you prefer, you can donate through PayPal (
button on the Wings of Hope page and up above on the right-hand side of this page), and we'll use your donation to buy whatever is most needed.
Wings of Hope is not an offiicial program of the USAF, the Department of Defense, or any other military or government entity. It is a "grass roots" effort by military personnel who want to help those around them.
If you have questions about the program,
feel free to email us.
